ESTONIAN FAMILY THERAPY ASSOCIATION

The Estonian Family Therapy Association was established in 1990 with the aim of disseminating knowledge about family therapy in Estonia.

Today, the EFTA unites nearly 200 family therapists, who have completed a family psychotherapist training cycle (3+2 years) and are active in various fields ranging from medicine and the social system to private therapies.

Family therapy in Estonia is accepted as an evidence-based psychotherapy method funded by the Estonian Health Insurance Fund, the Social Insurance Board and the Unemployment Insurance Fund.

We are proud to have a well-functioning family therapy training system and therapists with years of experience, who are always ready to support and supervise their younger colleagues. We have published books on family therapy in Estonian and established strong partnerships with recognised family therapists in other countries.
